Paneer and Veg. JalFraizee/JalFrezi

After Chicken Jalfraizy, I have tried panner and mixed veg jalfraizy, it's same like Chicken preperation. If you havn't checked my last post yet, then check it here. There I explained what is a Jalfraizy and the origin of JalFaizy. In short, it is a quick stir-fry recipe and the main ingredients are onion, Bell Pepper/capsicum and lots of tomato. This time I tried it with my daughter's favorite Panner and I added mixed vegetable in it. It's very easy to prepare and taste great.

Ingredients :

Carrot : 1, cut in thin n long pieces [You can add your choice of vegetables]
Capsicum/bell pepper : 1, cut into cubes
Corn kernels : 1/3 cup
Spring onion : 1/3 cup, cut into 1" long pieces
Onions : 1, medium, cut into thin slices
Ginger-garlic paste : 1 tblsp.
Green chilli : 1-2, chopped
Tomato : 3, medium, 1 chopped and 2 pureed
Cumin seeds : 1 tsp.
Turmeric powder : 1 tsp.
Red chilli powder : 1-2 tsp. (as per taste)
Garam masala powder : 1 tsp.
Oil : 2 tblsp.
Salt to taste
Finely chopped spring onion to garnish

Method :
  • In a pan, heat oil, fry panner pieces from both sides until lightly browned. Keep aside. In the same oil, add cumin seeds, when they crackle add sliced onions and carrots, saute for few minutes until carrots are half done, then add capsicum/bell pepper pieces and tomato pieces. Saute for couple of minutes.
  • When vegetables are almost done, add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric, red chilli and garam masala powder. Stir for a minute before you add tomato puree. Mix well. Now add fried paneer pieces , corn kernels and spring onions. Cover and in medium flame cook until vegetables are done or about 4-5 minutes.
  • You are done and serve immediately garnished with chopped spring onions.
  • Serve this with rice or roti/chapati or paratha....................
